A versatile basic fibre. Useful, hard-wearing multipurpose fibre. Cotton fibres are obtained from the pump-like clumps of cottonseed kernels. The highest quality cotton is made from the longest fibres. A loose-fitting jersey is likely to be knitted from a short, stretchy, cheap yarn and will not last long.
